Forgiving Someone

What it means

The Bible says to forgive each other, just as the Lord forgave us. Forgiving means choosing not to pay someone back.

Bible text
bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.
Colossians 3:13 · World English Bible (public domain)

What would you do?

Your friend knocked over the block tower you were building. Now they say, 'I'm sorry.'

Forgiving doesn't mean what happened was okay, and it doesn't mean pretending you're not hurt. It means letting go of getting even.

If someone is hurting you or making you feel unsafe, tell a trusted grown-up right away — a parent, teacher, or another safe adult. Forgiving someone never means you have to keep a hurtful secret or stay somewhere unsafe.

Practise it
